The UK, one of the friendlier Western countries towards China in recent years, has suspended its extradition treaty with Hong Kong due to Beijing’s national security law. MLI’s ambassador on Hong Kong-China policy Nathan Law appeared on CNN to provide his comments on the recent decision by the UK.
“Under the national security law, Hong Kong does not enjoy the rule of law,” explains Law. “I think in the long term, there will be more and more similar policies to China from the UK.”
