MLI Senior Fellow Phlip Cross appeared on BNN Bloomberg to discuss the devastating impact of COVID-19 on Canada’s economy, unprecendent levels of government spending, and the best way to restart the economy.
“I think we have to be a lot more focused and targetted than we were last spring,” explains Cross. “What we know though is that a small number of industries are taking a very large hit and I think that’s where we have to target aid, instead of a small amount of aid to everyone, I think we need to target a large amount of aid to these industries.”
