A court case challenging a government ban on Canadians paying for private health care coverage will hopefully spur progress toward fixing a broken system, Munk Senior Fellow Sean Speer said in an interview with CTV.
“Increasingly Canada’s health care system is not only fiscally unsustainable but performing poorly for Canadians”, says Speer.
This week MLI released “Sustainable Medicare For All”, the fourth and final video in its series on how to make health care work better for Canadians.
Speer is also the author of a recent MLI paper that finds hospital and physician services leaves little public monies left over to help low- and middle-income Canadians cover the costs of uninsured services and treatments such as drugs, dental, and out-patient services. The case for health care reform has been building for several years”, Speer tells CTV.
