MLI Research Advisory Board member Elliot Tepper appeared on CTV News to discuss the impending border closure between Canada and the United States. During his remarks to CTV, Tepper noted how interdependent Canada and the U.S. are, as illustrated by the NAFTA deal. This fact puts the impending border closure into sharp perspective.
Tepper also spoke to the ever changing definition of “essential” travel as the two countries seek to address the COVID-19 outbreak. In terms of long term impact, Tepper predicts that Canadians will want to return to normal life as soon as possible, however, no one is certain of when that will happen.
