Protests that occurred over various cities where suppose to be on systemic racism and policing. However, the toppling of the John A. Macdonald statue during the Montreal protests has taken the spotlight. MLI Senior Fellow Christian Leuprecht joined Afternoons with Rob Breakenridge to discuss these recent events and his new commentary on systemic racism in policing on how to address it.
“Ultimately the framework for police isn’t set by the police, but through the public through their politicians,” explains Leuprecht. “If we want things to change, we need to change the framework and constraints under which policing is carried out.”
