Canada has temporarily suspended diplomatic missions in Afghanistan and evacuated the embassy. The Taliban has rapidly taken over and declared victory, saying that the war in the nation is over. MLI Senior Fellow Christian Leuprecht joins Scott Thompson on Global News to discuss the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, the withdrawal of American troops, and what this means for the world.
“I think the lesson for the rest of the world that we need to have some serious introspection about our arrogance and hubris about what people thought they could achieve in Afghanistan,” notes Leuprecht.
