The federal government will need to allocate billions of dollars if it hopes to give the Canadian forces the tools it needs for 21st century combat, MLI Munk Senior Fellow Christian Leuprecht told CBC.
“If you want to have real inroads and make real significant change, you’re inherently always talking in the billions”, says Leuprecht. “And in a fiscally-constrained environment that’s always a tall order, both to find the money and then to sell that to Canadians”.
