The Conservative Leadership race offers Canadians the opportunity to re-think conservatism in a modern Canada. Brian Lee Crowley, Managing Director of the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, joins John Gormley to speak about how the leadership race could change more than the face of right-wing politics in Canada for the future. “The thing that’s worrying me about what I’m seeing in the Conservative leadership campaign is that I see a lot of anger,” say Dr. Crowley. “…[B]ut I don’t think that anger is enough to convince people to vote for a conservative party. You need to have a positive program that grows out of anger, that grows out of populism, that appeals to people who aren’t already angry.”
