WASHINGTON + OTTAWA (November 5, 2024):
The US faces an undeniably consequential election, the result of which will drastically shape Canada-US relations for years to come.
Tensions within the US are high and Canadians, regardless of their partisan persuasion, look on with anxiety – hoping for an uncontested winner and the peaceful transfer of power to a new administration.
The Center for North American Prosperity and Security (CNAPS), the Macdonald-Laurier Institute’s Washington office, is available to comment throughout election day.
CNAPS’ executive director, Jamie Tronnes, is available for comment from Washington.
MLI’s managing director, Brian Lee Crowley, is available for comment from Ottawa.
A range of other experts on Canada-US trade, energy policy, defence, national security, and immigration and border issues can be made available on request.
