The trial of Michael Spavor ends without a verdict in the latest development in what has become a diplomatic row between China, Canada and the US. Spavor was arrested two years ago with fellow Canadian Michael Kovrig. As Spavor’s trial ended with no verdict, Chinese authorities refused access to foreign diplomats or media.

“This is a kangaroo court, no doubt. The determination of the Chinese government is very clear, the verdict is going to be guilty,” notes Lin.
