The G7 leaders’, NATO, and the Canada-European summits are right around the corner, and Prime Minister Trudeau has announced his plan to attend this important meetings in person, stressing the need for global leaders need to come together to tackle the challenges that face the world now and in the future. MLI Senior Fellow Christian Leuprecht joined the Forum Daily to discuss what to expect from the upcoming NATO summit and G7 meeting.
“It’s very important for the Prime Minister to be there in person to press Canada’s interests and to press Canada’s concerns,” say Leuprecht. “It is also to simply show the flag and that Canada remains a critical player in the transatlantic relationship in general.”
