OTTAWA, ON (January 10, 2023): In the seven years since Shuvaloy Majumdar took over the leadership of the Macdonald-Laurier Institute’s foreign policy and national security program, he has made a significant contribution to our national public policy debates. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and, as of January 1, 2023, Majumdar has moved on to a new professional undertaking, ending his involvement with MLI.
Majumdar established a multi-disciplinary and multi-partisan team of more than 25 of the nation’s foremost foreign, defence and national security policy thinkers, engaging policy-makers and the public through thousands of opinion pieces, media appearances and public engagements. During his tenure, he helped to define and promote Canada’s interests abroad in a way that few can rival.
“Shuv has been instrumental in MLI’s rapid growth and influence on public policy,” says Managing Director Brian Lee Crowley. “His quick mind, worldwide contacts and encyclopaedic knowledge will be sorely missed by all of us at the Institute. He leaves with our good wishes, thanks and gratitude for a peerless contribution to making MLI one of the top think tanks in Canada.”
In due course, Majumdar will be announcing separately the details of his new professional endeavours.
