Munk Senior Fellow for Foreign Policy Shuvaloy Majumdar spoke to CBC’s Power and Politics on the US exit from the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran. “It was a disastrous deal,” says Majumdar, “that made a bargain with a regime that was bent on hegemony across the region.”
The agreement, negotiated by Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama, provided for lifting international sanctions in exchange for limits on Iran’s nuclear program.
As Majumdar adds, “This is just the beginning of what we’re about to see and the future remains fairly unpredictable.”
