MLI Senior Fellow Richard Audas joins On Point with Alex Pierson to discuss how the Canadian government has faired overall throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Audas and Pierson discuss the latest update to the MLI COVID Misery Index, which Audas is the lead designer of.
“Canada is certainly doing a great job getting people their first vaccinations and Canada is amongst the world leaders in that area. So kudos to all provinces for making a real effort to get people vaccinated,” notes Audas.
“Unfortunately, the lockdowns we continue to see, bring the misery along with them. I think this has slowed the economic recovery and unemployment has remained persistently high.”
