MLI would like to congratulate chairman Rob Wildeboer and author Janice MacKinnon on their appointments to the federal government’s 16-member economic advisory council.
The body will “meet with the minister periodically to provide advice on a broad range of fiscal, economic and financial issues”, the government said in a press release.
Wildeboer is the chair of MLI’s board of directors and the Executive Chairman and co-founder of Martinrea International Inc., a global auto parts supplier.
MacKinnon, who will chair the advisory council, is a former finance minister with the Saskatchewan provincial government. She is also the author of several pieces for MLI, including:
- The paper, Health Care Reform From the Cradle of Medicare;
- An essay in Canada’s Looming Fiscal Squeeze and;
- A Straight Talk Q&A on health care reform.
“I look forward to working with the Council members and hearing their ideas as we move toward a new era of fiscal sustainability and prosperity for our country”, said Oliver in a statement.
