MLI Fellow Heather Exner-Pirot joined Kelly Cutrara on Global News 640 Toronto to discuss the appointment of Steven Guilbeault as Canada’s new Minister of the Environment and Climate Change.
“The person who has a history of ideological opposition to resource extraction to oil and gas and does not look like a pragmatic, constructive partner for Canada’s largest industry. This comes at a time where we’re facing an energy crisis and a time where we’re going to need to quintuple mining globally in order to meet the demands of the green transformation,” notes Exner-Pirot. “And all of that feels very much at risk when this is the person that’s the minister.”
