MLI research advisory board member Elliot Tepper appeared on CTV News to discuss Canada’s failed bid for the U.N. Security Council Seat.
“We arrived late and brought too little,” explained Tepper. “What we have been contributing to the international arena, recognizable within the UN environment, was not nearly a match for what the other two very worthy competitors brought. So I think, we were possibly lost before we even started.”
Tepper goes on to discuss the possibility of a campaign against Canada obtaining a security council seat, the lack of support at home for the bid, and what Canada should consider as we move on from this failed bid. Tepper urges Ottawa to think about where Canada’s real interests lie and to carefully consider where we should focus our efforts in our international relations.
