As the opioid crisis continues to ravage much of North America, policy-makers continue to debate the best way not just to save lives, but to get lives back on track.
On March 21, MLI hosted a conversation with Stanford University’s Professor Keith Humphreys, former White House Drug Policy Advisor in the Bush and Obama administrations, and Blair Gibbs, a policy consultant who served as senior adviser to former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, to discuss the divergent approaches to the opioid crisis being taken in British Columbia and Alberta, and outline some of the successes and challenges in both jurisdictions. The discussion was moderated by Aaron Wudrick, Director of Domestic Policy Program at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute.
