OTTAWA, ON (May 19, 2022): According to senior government officials, the Canadian federal government will ban the Chinese telecommunications company Huawei from its 5G networks. The Macdonald-Laurier Institute and its experts have been at the forefront in criticizing Huawei’s close connection to China’s Chinese Community Party and the dangers of allowing the company access to its next-generation mobile networks.
As Canada finally looks to join its principal allies in banning Huawei on 5G, MLI experts on foreign policy and national security are available to comment to media:
