Ransomware attacks on the US Colonial Pipeline happened three weeks ago and this week, a meat processing plant, JBS, was also attacked. Now questions of the vulnerabilities of Canada’s cybersecurity infrastructure have been raised. MLI Senior Fellow Christian Leuprecht joined the Roy Green Show to discuss cybersecurity in Canada and the threats facing the country.
“We’re under permanent, constant attack. Our government network, our private sector networks and individual citizens… The pandemic [has] only increased these threats,” notes Leuprecht. “In the past thirty years, we’ve had an increase in proliferation of non-state actors that are harboured [by] adversarial regimes like Russia.”
