For those of you frustrated by the thicket of political labels and the pejorative use of “ideology” (as in “I am principled, you are stubborn, he is an ideologue”) I recommend this Daily Telegraph blog item by Daniel Hannan, a British member of the European parliament who bears the Conservative partisan label but explains why he considers himself a liberal … of the Whig variety.
