Rather than reduce geopolitical risks in the region, the pandemic and Russia’s war in Ukraine have heightened geostrategic competition with a rise in tensions most acute in the Indo-Pacific. Risking marginalization in the Indo-Pacific region, the question for allies and friends of Canada is whether the government will release a robust Canadian Indo-Pacific strategy.
To shed light on these issues, MLI hosted an event with experts from Canada and like-minded countries to discuss Canada’s role in promoting a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.
