Vankleek Hill, Ont.’s The Review is highlighting a recent report report from MLI’s Christian Leuprecht that shows Canadians are paying more for policing than they get back in services. The study, titled “The Blue Line or the Bottom Line of Police Services in Canada? Arresting Runaway Policing Costs in Canada”, examines methods for delivering police services that are less expensive for the taxpayer. Leuprecht’s suggestions include transferring certain police services, such as background checks and court security, to civilians or private contractors.
