Munk Senior Fellow Shuvaloy Majumdar was interviewed on National Post Radio to speak about Prime Minister Trudeau’s recent visit to China. Trudeau returned from his trip, the aim of which was to initiate discussions around a possible China-Canada free trade deal, with no agreements made.
Majumdar addresses concerns about Trudeau’s China visit in MLI’s Dragon at the Door essay series. He believes that Trudeau’s lack of success in reaching a deal may be a blessing in disguise, as it will give the Canadian government the opportunity to give more thought to the possible outcomes of a free trade deal with China.
