Belarusians have cried foul over the election results in Belarus, as President Alexander Lukashenko claimed to have won over 80% of voters’ support in an election widely panned as neither free nor fair.
“Well, you know, it’s unlikely,” MLI Senior Fellow Marcus Kolga on TRT World says when asked if he thought these election results were plausible. “I think a lot of analysts and observers of Belarus predicted this sort of outcome. This quote-unquote ‘landslide’ victory for Lukashenko.”
Kolga goes on to discuss the precarious future that now faces Belarus as the protests continue.
