Linda Nazareth, MLI’s Senior Fellow in economics, appeared on 1310 News in Ottawa Monday to discuss her recently released Straight Talk Q&A that examines why Canada needs temporary foreign workers. Nazareth told show host Ed Hand that complaints about abuses of the program, such as those taking place in the restaurant industry, are overshadowing its benefits. “I’m sure there are abuses but it really is there to deal with the issue of labour shortages in Canada”, she said.
