In his weekly column in today’s Ottawa Citizen, MLI’s John Robson takes a look at, in no particular order, the demise of the British Navy, politicians who don’t say what they mean or mean what they say, profligate government spending, a UK cut to the number of F-35 fighter jet purchases they will make, misguided government profligacy, and converts to Keynesian theory. All of which followed the opening premise and question:
One of the saddest things in the newspapers is the collapse of British military power. A century ago Britannia ruled the waves and a good thing too. Now they seem ready to cede the waters to the Chinese or Iranians and lose the Battle of Britain by default. Might I ask why?
