This webinar features Sandy Sanderson, President of the Northeastern Alberta Business Association and a northern entrepreneur. The discussion will review the current state of Indigenous engagement in the oil and gas sector in northern Alberta. It will explore the achievements and limitations of Indigenous procurement processes, Indigenous investment strategies, and opportunities for further participation in the resource economy. The focus of the conversation will be on what might be called the “next wave” of Indigenous economic engagement, moving beyond the fairly limited returns of the past quarter century and establishing a foundation for more extensive Indigenous involvement and long-term prosperity building.
