OTTAWA, ON (November 26, 2024):
The Macdonald-Laurier Institute (MLI) is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Einat Wilf as a Senior Fellow. Wilf is globally recognized as a leading voice on Israel, Zionism, foreign policy, and education, and her distinguished career will bring invaluable insights to MLI’s work on these critical areas.
Wilf’s career began in the Israel Defense Forces, where she served as an intelligence officer. She later worked as a foreign policy advisor to Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres and as a strategic consultant with McKinsey & Company. A prolific author, Wilf has published several books exploring the themes of Zionism, diplomacy, and global politics, cementing her reputation as one of the foremost thinkers in her field. With her extensive experience in public service, Wilf has consistently demonstrated her commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and advancing policy solutions to global challenges.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Einat Wilf to the Macdonald-Laurier Institute as a senior fellow as part of our Promised Land Program – the first and only program of its kind in Canada,” said Brian Crowley, Managing Director of the Macdonald-Laurier Institute. “Over the last several decades, Dr. Wilf has become one of the most important, insightful, and illuminating voices in the world when it comes to matters related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Jewish life, and antisemitism, and we are profoundly honoured to have her join the MLI team.”
Wilf’s expertise and leadership align seamlessly with MLI’s commitment to advancing thoughtful and influential policy ideas. Her extensive scholarship and public engagement will further enhance MLI’s ability to address pressing challenges, including the resurgence of global antisemitism, the role of democratic governance in combating authoritarianism, and the future of the liberal international order.
“I am most grateful to have Einat Wilf join our team of world-renowned experts. She will make a tremendous contribution to MLI’s work on antisemitism, understanding the Middle East, and combating radicalization and extremism at home and abroad,” said Peter Copeland, MLI’s deputy director of Domestic Policy.
Wilf’s appointment comes at a time when robust, principled leadership is needed to confront challenges to pluralism and freedom. MLI is excited to welcome her contributions as we continue to build a brighter, more inclusive future for Canada and the world.
