The Manzella Report, a website that provides global business and economic news, has published the latest entry into MLI’s examination of the size of government. The recently-released study, titled “Estimating the True Size of Government: Adjusting for regulation”, examines how much of the economy the government controls through regulation. Author Philip Cross adds to previous MLI research to find that government controls nearly two-thirds of the economy through direct spending, tax expenditures and regulation.
