Christopher Dummitt is Professor of Canadian history at Trent University’s School for the Study of Canada. He previously taught at the University of London, Simon Fraser University, and the JFK Institute at the Freie Universitat Berlin.
His book Unbuttoned: A History of Mackenzie King’s Secret Life was a finalist for several national awards including the Writer’s Trust prize for best book in Canadian politics and the Canada Prize for the best academic book published in 2017. He is the host of the Canadian political history podcast 1867 & All That and an adviser to the Canadian Institute for Historical Education.
He writes on Canadian political history and the history of the ideas and values that have shaped daily life in Canada and is a regular contributor to the National Post, The Hub, and the Literary Review of Canada.
