The census data released this week reveals more Canadians than ever are living in cities like Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. But do those cities have enough money to support their residents?
Munk Senior Fellow Sean Speer, in an interview with CBC, says Canadians should be re-evaulating the revenue tools municipal, provincial and federal governments have available.
“I think there is an opportunity to rethink what economists describe as fiscal federalism”, says Speer.
