Jamie Tronnes

Jamie Tronnes has over 15 years of program leadership experience in the international affairs, governance, and development sector. Mrs. Tronnes served as Resident Country Director and Chief of Party for International Republican Institute (IRI) based in Rabat, Morocco and Beirut, Lebanon before going on to be named Deputy Regional Director for Africa at IRI’s head office based in Washington, DC. She has consulted on democracy promotion programs in Iraq, Jordan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Ukraine, and Pakistan and has lived in Doha, Qatar and Jeddah, KSA.

Before her work in the international development sector, Mrs. Tronnes served as Special Assistant to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada; as Special Assistant to the Minister of Employment and Social Development Canada; and worked as the Public Affairs Officer for Women and Youth in the office of the Leader of the Opposition in the Canadian parliament. Ms. Tronnes holds a BA in Philosophy with a minor in Political Science from the University of Alberta and an MLitt from the University of St Andrews  in Terrorism and Political Violence.

Born and raised in northern Alberta, Jamie now lives in the United States with her husband and their two children.
