The Aquaculture Association of Canada’s annual conference, New Frontiers: Bridging Technology and Economic Growth, invited MLI Managing Director Brian Lee Crowley to be keynote speaker on May 28, 2012 in Charlottetown, PEI. His talk focused on the agriculture and food sector’s (including aquaculture) potential to be an economic powerhouse for Canada.
Dr. Crowley is also invited to be a special guest lecturer at the University of PEI to discuss “Think tanks, universities and thought leadership in Canada.” The lecture will take place at 2 pm (ADT) on May 28th at 243 Don and Marion McDougall Hall, UPEI, 550 University Ave, Charlottetown. Think tanks are emerging as a major player in public policy thinking throughout the western democracies. Universities, on the other hand, seem to see their relative influence diminishing. Why might that be? Can and should universities try to reverse this trend? Or is this part of a growing institutional specialization that cannot now be changed?
