In a new interview published by the Globe and Mail, Macdonald-Laurier Institute Managing Director Brian Lee Crowley said Canadians have a lot to be proud of when it comes to our democratic institutions.
Crowley, who spoke to interviewer Adam Kahane of Reos Partners as part of a series called Possible Canadas, said that Canadians “don’t always understand what we have”.
A well-functioning democracy, the rule of law and non-corrupt judges and police are just a few examples of the advantages Canada has over other countries around the world.
“Canada is a lucky country”, Crowley says. “People often say it’s because we have a vast endowment of natural resources, but that can’t explain our success as a society”.
