Macdonald-Laurier Institute Managing Director Brian Lee Crowley is set to speak at a symposium the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy is hosting on trade and investment policy.
The event will examine how best to achieve the goals the federal government has laid out on the subject, the Global Markets Action Plan.
Crowley will be taking part in a panel examining how barriers to internal trade between the provinces are affecting Canada’s global competitiveness.
Also speaking are Minister of Industry James Moore and Canadian Council of Chief Executives Vice President Ailish Campbell.
The event will take place at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa on Sept. 15.
9/11 and the War on Terror
Crowley will also be speaking at an event, organized by the Free Thinking Film Society, that looks back at the 9/11 terrorist attacks and where the West stands in the War on Terror.
The event will take place on Sunday, Sept. 14 at the main auditorium of Library & Archives Canada at 395 Wellington St. in Ottawa.
Also participating are Bret Stephens, the deputy editorial page editor for the international opinions pages at the Wall Street Journal, and Salim Mansur, political science professor at the University of Western Ontario.
Crowley talked about the issue on 580 CFRA in Ottawa on Thursday morning.
The Middle East
Crowley will also be speaking on Saturday, Sept. 13 on current issues in the Middle East at the Na’amat Canada annual convention.
The event will take place from Friday Sept. 12 to Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Lord Elgin Hotel in Ottawa.
