Event features world-class lineup that includes federal cabinet minister Jason Kenney.
OTTAWA, June 16, 2014 – Canada’s Macdonald-Laurier Institute is partnering with the U.K.-based Centre for Policy Studies to provide in-depth coverage of the Margaret Thatcher Conference on Liberty, happening Wednesday, June 18.
The conference marks the 40th anniversary of CPS, which former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher co-founded.
The event features an impressive lineup of speakers, including Canadian cabinet minister Jason Kenney. Also speaking are U.S. General David Petraeus, Professor Niall Ferguson and John Micklethwait, the editor-in-chief of the Economist.
“We expect this to be the most stimulating and prestigious conference of the year”, said Tim Knox, director of CPS. “The conference will examine what liberty means in the modern world – from economics, to the arts, digital communications and defence”.
MLI will be bringing the event to Canadians by livestreaming the discussions and providing frequent updates on social media. Matt Bufton, the executive director of the Institute for Liberal Studies, will provide blog posts detailing his thoughts on the speakers.
