The Prime Minister has made it clear that he wants to set a new direction for the country, and the Speech from the Throne has set out an ambitious agenda for building up Canada’s economy and for making the country more secure in the face of external threats
In this Macdonald-Laurier Institute series, we provide a road map for federal Ministers to implement the Government’s priorities.
Our aim is to provide each Minister with a policy agenda that is bold enough to address the grave challenges that the country faces, but which is focussed and can be practically implemented in a realistic time frame.
The author of these letters is Tim Sargent, director of domestic policy at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute (MLI). Before joining MLI Sargent spent 28 years in the federal government, where he held deputy minister and associate deputy minister positions at Finance, International Trade, Fisheries and Oceans, and Agriculure and AgriFood, as well as senior positions at the Privy Council Office.
Our official media partner for the Letter to a minister project is The Hub Canada.
