MLI Senior Fellow and founder of Disinfowatch.org Marcus Kolga appeared on CBC News to discuss Global Research, a website that has come under international scrutiny for peddling foreign disinformation and ties to Russia.
The website has listed a retired University of Ottawa professor Michel Chossudovsky as the editor. Chossudovksy has denied running a Krelim aligned website. Despite this, the website has spread disinformation, specifically on COVID-19, causing confusion and Chossudovsky has appeared on Russian state TV.
“Becuase there’s a university professor behind it, it makes those narratives all the more believable and all the more dangerous,” explains Kolga.
