The future of Canada’s role in the world is at stake with today’s announcement of Ottawa’s defence policy review
OTTAWA, June 7, 2017 – The Macdonald-Laurier Institute’s team of thought leaders are available to comment on today’s announcement of Ottawa’s defence policy review.
MLI authors Christian Leuprecht, Jeffrey Collins and Richard Shimooka will offer their analysis of the government’s plan.
“The Liberal government is set to deliver what it claims will be a substantive defence policy that will guide the Canadian military for the next generation”, says the CBC.
The MLI team includes:
- Christian Leuprecht, a leading thinker on Canada’s defence policy and the author of a recent analysis of Canada’s special forces for MLI;
- Jeffrey Collins, the co-author of an MLI paper on what Ottawa needs to do as part of the defence review;
- Richard Shimooka, a leading expert on how defence spending affects Canada’s role in the world.
