OTTAWA, ON (June 27, 2018): Following this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), the Macdonald-Laurier Institute’s Board of Directors has undergone some changes.
After 8 years of distinguished service, Rob Wildeboer has stepped down as Chair of MLI’s Board of Directors. Pierre Casgrain, the former Vice Chair, has agreed to serve as the new Chair.
“Rob’s energy and enthusiasm for MLI and its mission will be missed on the board, but we are delighted that he will join the Institute’s Advisory Council,” said MLI Managing Director Brian Lee Crowley.
Crowley also welcomed Mr. Casgrain to his new role, noting his depth of knowledge and experience having served as the previous Vice Chair for several years. “All of us at the Institute look forward to working with [Mr. Casgrain].”
MLI is also pleased to announce that Laura Jones will be replacing Mr. Casgrain as Vice Chair.
In addition, Martin MacKinnon has stepped down from his role as a Director. While he is no longer a Director, he will maintain his position as Treasurer, a post which, according to Crowley, Mr. MacKinnon has “filled with distinction for a number of years.”
Lastly, the Board is pleased to announce that Veso Sobot will be joining as a director. “We are honoured to welcome [Mr. Sobot] to the Board,” said Crowley.
