MLI Managing Director Brian Lee Crowley is set to participate in a federal government-organized panel on skills shortages in Canada later this week in Toronto.
Crowley will chair a session entitled “The State of the Labour Market: Do Skills Shortages Exist?” as part of a day-long event that Jason Kenney, federal minister of employment and social development and minister for multiculturalism, is organizing.
The panel will measure the extent to which skills shortages are an issue, examine the future of skills needs in the country and gauge how prepared the country is to fill the demand for skilled labour in the coming years.
The event will take place in Toronto on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.
Also participating on the panel are:
Derek Burleton, Vice President and Deputy Chief Economist, TD Bank Financial Group
Ross Laver, Vice President of Policy and Communications, Canadian Council of Chief Executives
Arthur Sweetman, Ontario Research Chair in Health and Human Resources, McMaster University
Mike Luff, Senior Researcher for Social and Economic Policy at the Canadian Labour Congress
