: Visiting Fellow
Yeli Hwang specializes in customs risk management, border enforcement, and counter-smuggling strategies, with a focus on narcotics smuggling prevention and border risk management in the context of global trade. She is a senior officer at the Korea Customs Service.
Her work examines how narcotics trafficking and illicit trade evolve across international supply chains, with particular attention to high-risk cargo targeting, smuggling route diversification, and emerging risks in global logistics. By linking international trade, border security, and illicit narcotics flows, she aims to support more effective policy responses to prevent smuggling and strengthen customs enforcement capacity.
