January 31, 2013 – In a study released today by the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, former Saskatchewan NDP Finance Minister Janice MacKinnon argues that providing health care for all Canadians while encouraging a robust economy will require a more efficient system with better methods of funding in future years. In the study, she points to a number of solutions including more provincial-led reforms such as the use of efficient private clinics and indirect user fees.
Since the release of the paper, CTV News and Global News have reported on the findings. It has also been picked up in the Winnipeg Free Press and iPolitics, CBC News, and Sun News Network will be covering the report as well. Stay tuned for more details.
