Low-cost Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) are flooding Western markets, offering consumers a more affordable path to sustainable transit. But this affordability comes with steep, hidden national security risks. These connected vehicles carry capabilities for data harvesting, remote surveillance, and even integrated “kill switches” that could halt transit systems during a foreign policy crisis.
