Macquarie Equities Research, a global provider of investment information, has quoted MLI Managing Director Brian Lee Crowley in one of its recent research notes on global precious metals. The note draws from a column Crowley wrote for the Globe and Mail which argues that Canada’s institutions and behaviours – a commitment to the rule of law, respect of private property, a predictable taxation system – make it a “uniquely valuable” place to invest in developing natural resources. “We believe mining companies want as much certainty as possible going forward in a volatile market where cost containment is so important – Canada is well positioned to see a significant increase in mining investment over the next decade”, reads the April research note.
