With all the world’s major economies looking to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations as the next step to trade opportunity, it’s time to discuss widening the circle.
TPP negotiations have been high on the international agenda, with talks continuing in Australia over the weekend. They are expected to not only set the stage for future trade agreements, but to open the door for additional economies demonstrating willingness to liberalize and open up to the world. Who should join after the original twelve seal the deal and what will it mean for Canada and its business community?

Bruce Linghu, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada will offer opening remarks.
New Zealand High Commissioner Simon Tucker and International Trade Expert and Carleton Professor Dr. Ian Lee will discuss the economic climate in Asia and business opportunities for Canada.
Then, Dr. Laura Dawson of Dawson Strategic and other trade specialists will talk about TPP’s potential expansion to such new members as Taiwan, South Korea and Indonesia and what that expansion could mean for Canada.
